We will focus on how companies are dealing with the myriad of talent management issues brought on by the economic turmoil - and how they are preparing for the recruitment and retention of their top executives as markets continue to transition. It isn't business as usual or predictable - so how are companies dealing with the unexpected? How do you continue to recruit the top talent you need and retain your best people in a tough environment? And what can you do to maintain a strong and positive employment brand in the marketplace when your company is under fire? At the IACPR Global Conference 2008, we brought together a panel to discuss how to manage the recruitment and retention of talent during times of major change. This issue of Talent Strategies Update features excerpts from that panel, moderated by Garrett Sheridan, Managing Partner, Axiom Consulting Partners, and including Sal Giambanco, VP of HR and Human Capital, Omidyar Network/ Former Vice President of HR and Administration, PayPal, and John Rice, Vice President of Human Resources, Tyco Flow Control. Plus Kathleen Gioffre, Americas - Head of Talent Acquisition for UBS Investment Bank, shares tips on weathering a downsizing.
Nancie Whitehouse, 2009 Chair, shares more about the IACPR and our plans for 2009 in our Year in Review 2009. At the IACPR Global Conference 2008, Professor Michael Watkins, founder of Genesis Advisors and author of the best-selling The First 90 Days, conducted a survey of participants, On-boarding Survey: Todays Most Effective Management Tool, and shared his recently published article from Talent Management magazine, The Three Pillars of Executive On-boarding. Read the proprietary White Paper on Future Trends developed as a result of discussions at our Spring 2008 Small Search Firm Forum. Participants contributed to the content and then sent the paper to their clients after the meeting - the White Paper was not made available to anyone outside the meeting until now. We will be developing new content coming out of our 2009 Forum for registrants only to share with their clients.
